Talent of the Future Design Competition

One of the main elements of our service is providing clients with creative, cutting edge exhibition stand designs that meet their marketing objectives. This new student competition sets out to find a winning exhibition stand design that provides an innovative and creative solution whilst understanding perfectly the client?s objectives. All entries will be shortlisted by a panel of industry experts and the nominated shortlisted designs will be posted on the Nimlok website where they will receive public votes. The entry with the most public votes will win the competition. Judging will be based on originality, creativity and relevancy of a solution that best meets the clients brief. The adjudication will take place w/c 4th February and shortlists will be posted online w/c 11th February. The winner will be announced on Friday 1st March 2013. A maximum of 3 visuals can be submitted (from one or more briefs). Designs to be submitted and created in either hard copy format (by post) or Jpeg or PDF (by email). There is no entry fee. Eligibility The competition is open to all UK design students in Higher Education aged 18 and above. Prize The entrant with the most votes will win £250 plus the prestigious opportunity to partake in optional work experience within Nimlok's award winning design department.

United Nations Ranan Lurie Political Cartoon Awards
Posted: Tue, 02 Oct 2012 02:14:00 +0000The United Nations, in its desire to promote the highest standard of excellence in political cartoons, has established this annual political cartoon award given in the international field, and named the award after political cartoonist Ranan Lurie. We have named this award after Mr. Lurie, as we find that his political cartoons epitomize the high standards that we at the United Nations would like to see. Winning cartoons will be chosen for their high professional standards in art, political analysis of events, projection of events to come, humor, while emphasizing the spirit and principles of the U.N. The entry must consist of reproductions only. The cartoon reproductions will be accepted only as published, with name of publication, language, and date included, accompanied by a newspaper reprint, and translated into English. Exhibits are limited to two cartoons per person. Reproductions must be presented measuring no larger than 8 1/2 x 11 inches. There is no entry fee. Eligibility Entries for these awards may be made by any professional individual, and should consist of political cartoons printed in any publication published anywhere, in any language. Prize The prizes are to be announced on the first Thursday of December 2012, at the Annual Awards Dinner and at the United Nations, New York. Thirteen prizes will be announced in the presence of the Secretary General of the United Nations, The Honorable Ban Ki-moon. ? First prize, of $10,000.00 and a plaque, will be presented by Dr. Elie Wiesel, Nobel Laureate, Chairman Emeritus of the Judging Committee. ? Second prize, of $5,000.00 and a plaque, will be presented by Giampaolo Pioli, President of the United Nations Correspondents Association. ? Third prize, of $3,000.00 and a plaque, will be presented by Bhikshuni Weisbrot, President of the United Nations SRC Society of Writers. ? Ten honorable mentions, in the form of plaques, will be declared by Giampaolo Pioli, President of UNCA, and Bhikshuni Weisbrot, President of the United Nations SRC Society of Writers.

Fenn Young Designers Awards 2012

Expose creativity and innovations ? Foster a forum for creative minds This is an open ideas competition seeking creative, innovative proposals that explore the interpretation of 'Organic' using the following mediums: ? Architecture ? Interior design ? Product/graphic design ? Fashion design ? Photography ? Painting How do you interpret 'Organic' if you are designing a building, a piece of furniture, a fabric, a dress, a painting or any other form of art? All entries will be juried and awarded by a distinguished international panel of architects, designers, artists. There is no entry fee. Eligibility The Fenn Young Designers Awards 2012 are open to all young creative minds from all parts of the world from the ages of 18-33. Prize ? First prize: US$ 1,500 ? Second prize: US$ 1,000 ?
